Toolbox Talks for Interior Designers
We continue our series of CPD events for interior designers on Wednesday 12th October 2016. Our Toolbox Talks are conversations between individuals and companies who are experts in their craft, share our values and our love of making.
Colour man, designer and architectural historian Edward Bulmer will tell us how Edward Bulmer Paints create beautiful, breathable healthy paints in the richest of hues alongside calm, natural tones using just twelve natural earth and mineral pigments at their paint workshop in Hereford. Made without compromise on colour, finish or responsibility to the environment, it is the most ecological paint in the world.
London based weaver, Eleanor Pritchard is known for her fabrics & blankets with bold geometrics and graphic reversible patterns . She has a deep interest in vernacular British textiles and sees much of her work as a reinterpretation of these traditions and techniques for a contemporary audience. She will talk us through her process and her tools, sharing her samples and materials and how she translates her designs from idea to finished woven fabric.
Our Sean Sutcliffe, Benchmark’s MD and a furniture maker for over 30 years, will share his in-depth knowledge of non-ferrous metals & metal patination including zinc, copper & pewter, explaining their properties and the finishes that can be achieved so that you can commission more effectively.
There is no cost for this event and a delicious lunch, cooked by our chef Jo, is included.
FOR BIID MEMBERS THIS DAY, INCLUDING A WORKSHOP TOUR, WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR 6 CPD POINTS
