Rotunda Serotina makes its debut in London

The Rotunda Serotina  will be one of the main attractions at the 2016 ARCHITECT@WORK show in Olympia on 27th & 28th January.

First exhibited as part of the Wallpaper* Handmade 2015 in Milan, we made the towering structure of food plates as a collaborative project with the American Hardwood Export Council  and designers Kolman Boye.  Made from American Cherry, the three storeys of shelves are arranged in a cylindrical shape  so that a single ladder can slide around inside the structure to scale every shelf and collect the limited edition snack trays which are given to visitors.

As part of the talks programme for the show, our own Sean Sutcliffe will join Victor Boye Julebäk and Erik Kolman Janouch from Kolman Boye along with David Venables from AHEC.  Chaired by Ellie Stathaki (Architecture Editor, Wallpaper*) they will discuss the Scandinavian wood tradition, the phenomenological qualities of the American cherry and maple as well as the ground breaking Life Cycle Assessment they used to create the Rotunda Serotina.

The talk will be followed by a Swedish-style Fika, where coffee and Swedish pastries will be served.

Date: 27 January 2016

Time: talk 3pm, Fika from 3.40pm

Place: Architect@Work, Olympia National

At ARCHITECT@WORK, over 90 of Europe’s top architectural suppliers will reveal their innovations in the UK for the first time. All of these companies have gone through a rigorous selection process, with an external judging panel overseeing the product selection. There will be complimentary catering for all visitors throughout the event, encouraging networking and downtime as well as deal-making.
