New Benchmark designs launching at Decorex 2013
We’re excited to be launching several new pieces for both indoor and outdoor spaces at Decorex 2013 this weekend. They will be available to view in our showroom from Friday 27th September and images will be available soon on our website.
The Darby Table designed by Steven Owens is inspired by industrial sash cramps with legs made from cast patinated bronze with a wainy edged solid elm top. It is also available with cast iron legs and a straight edged solid oak top.
The Oxbow Side Chair and Armchair are by new designer to Benchmark, Namon Gaston. The Oxbow is lightweight yet strong with a comfortable slung seat and back made from English bridle hide in a range of three colours. The leather will mould and develop a rich patina with maturity.
Also new to the collection is the Lily Dressing Table designed by Sarah Kay; a simple yet beautifully crafted piece made from fine grained Swiss pear, sycamore or walnut with a mirror and compartments for jewellery and cosmetics. It has been paired with the Benchmark designed Theda Chair, a fully upholstered side chair or armchair with rounded back and slender fumed oak legs that would work equally well as a dining or bedroom chair.
Several variants of the Puck Side Table designed by Simen Aarseth are being introduced at the exhibition. Spun metal disks in copper, zinc, brass, pewter or gilding metal sit on delicate oak or walnut frames – perfect on their own or grouped to make a statement.
For the first time Benchmark are exhibiting a selection of their contemporary outdoor furniture by designers Wales & Wales. The Meko, Chico, Harpo and DB designs offer a choice of full benches, backless benches, chairs and tables. All are superbly detailed and offered in sustainably sourced oak and iroko. Joining the Wales & Wales range is a new outdoor version of our chunky trestle style Oscar Table and Bench. Made from air-dried oak, the timber develops splits as it dries giving a natural look that is full of character.
