Masters of their craft share their knowledge…

Another inspirational Toolbox Talk, our CPD day for Interior Designers, was held in our showroom and workshops yesterday with over forty designers joining us for a day of learning from three experts in their field who generously shared their knowledge and talked through the processes and skills of their business.  It was a fascinating day – from the wonders of the natural pigments used in Edward Bulmer’s healthy paints to the inspiration behind Eleanor Pritchard’s repeat patterns for her British woven wools; and the chemistry behind the metal patination that we do here at Benchmark.

Our Toolbox Talks are held twice yearly, usually in October and March. We invite two other speakers, who share our values and our love of making. Our aim is to provide better knowledge and understanding of materials and skills in each area of excellence allowing Interior Designers  to commission more creatively and effectively.  We provide a delicious lunch cooked by our own chef Jo, and round off the day with a workshop tour.

For BIID members, the day is eligible for 6 CPD points.  If you would like to be added to our mailing list for the next Toolbox Talk, please email
