Great Northern Hotel shortlisted for WIN awards

Last week, The World Interiors News Awards were held at the Saatchi Gallery at the Duke of York’s Headquarters in Chelsea. The great and the good of the design world gathered to find out the winners with the ceremony hosted by Architecture writer and broadcaster Tom Dyckoff.

The jury included James Dilley of Jestico & Whiles, James Mair of Viaduct, Nick Jones of Soho House, Sally Mackereth of Studio Mackereth and Stephen Jones of Woods Bagot.

From 610 Entries, 30 International Judges and 53 Countries, we’re proud that the Great Northern Hotel was shortlisted in the hotel category. Designed by Archer Humphreys, Benchmark made furniture and fittings for the bedrooms and bars.

For a first class experience, we made beautifully detailed designs in American Black Walnut, polished steel and leather. For the bedrooms we made bedside tables, sofas, mirrors and luggage racks which gave a sense of place. In the special Couchette rooms, we made beds that can be folded away when not in use allowing the rooms to function like sleeper carriages. Downstairs, our impressive central pewter topped bar adds presence to the room and gives a feeling of exemplary service.

WIN is a sister publication to World Architecture News, the leading digital publisher, showcasing the latest interior design news and products form around the globe.
