Book now for our Toolbox Talk
Following the success of our Toolbox Talk in May, we continue our series of conversations on Wednesday October 14th between Interior Designers and companies who are experts in their craft, and who share our values and our love of making.
Our Toolbox Talks provide better knowledge and understanding of materials and skills in each area of excellence allowing more creative and effective commissioning.
Joining us will be Bill Amberg from Bill Amberg Studio and Rebecca Weir from Light.iQ, leather specialists and lighting design consultants respectively, who like us, believe in doing things properly. They will talk through the processes of their craft and what is necessary in their toolbox.
It is an informal day of talks with lunch provided and the opportunity to tour the workshops and discuss specific projects with our experts in the afternoon.
Programme of Talks
Bill Amberg, from Bill Amberg Studio will take us though the qualities and aesthetics of leather, showing how interiors can be enhanced both thermally and acoustically as well as impacting upon the ambiance of space. He will advise on commissioning bespoke leather work helping you to make the best design and material choices.
Rebecca Weir, Creative Director of Light IQ and past Lighting Specialist for House & Garden magazine, will take us through a journey of understanding light as a basic tool using case studies to demonstrate different light effects and the physical and emotional responses to light. This will be a valuable resource for interior designers looking for the confidence to integrate contemporary lighting practice into their projects.
Sean Sutcliffe from Benchmark will, share his in-depth knowledge of specialist metals & metal patination including zinc, copper and pewter, explaining their properties and the finishes that can be achieved so that you can commission effectively.
