A celebration of Britain
All things British is the mantra for our latest project, the new Albion at Clerkenwell. For the artisan produce on the shelves and the seasonal ingredients in the kitchen, right down to the design, furniture and even the smaller details such as the knives and forks, the Albion team have sourced British suppliers, designers and manufacturers.
In their largest site to date in the iconic Turnmill Building (for which we made the glorious, sculptural reception desk), we’ve made and installed bespoke furniture for throughout the restaurant from the tables, bars and waiter stations to the banquette seating, grocery display shelving and even the charcuterie and cheese trollies. In keeping with Albion’s ethos of simple and straightforward seasonal British food, we made all the furniture from a palette of natural materials – solid oak, zinc, carrara marble and leather.
There’s a whole range of dining options for all occasions – from breakfast and brunch, to lunch, supper and late-night cocktails. Our favourite is the Pie Room – a brilliant concept for pie lovers with a regularly changing menu of five pies paired with a pint of Albion Ale or perhaps the Cheese & Charcuterie Corner where you will find an evolving selection of British cheese and artisan charcuterie alongside an extended range of potted and roasted meats that the talented chefs have made in-house.
This isn’t the first Albion that we’ve made furniture for. Our very first was the café, bakery & shop in Shoreditch back in 2009. We’re pleased to say that the furniture is still looking great seven years on.
